Okay, so i’m starting to get more and more interested in photography. i’m taking a photo II class (took photo I already) and i think i want to start saving up for my own digital SLR. but i know very little about these camera’s and want to know where to start. i want to get a camera that isn’t too difficult to use and that will give me a lot of manual control over the photos. i’m mainly looking at canon or nikon, mainly nikon (the D60)
advice? suggestions?
thanks!!
so right now i’m looking at either the d40 or the canon rebel xs. what do you think?

Start with D40 instead of D60. The money saved can be used to bought accessories or better still can be used in future for lenses.
D40 provides better flash sync speed and better noise performance at higher ISO.
D60 will be of use if you do not plan to later post-process your photos on your computer.
Don’t look at megapixels since in real life they don’t make much of a difference and dust removal in D60 hardly works.
Nikon D40 is excellent camera to start with.Easy to use.
Nice out of the camera result picture quality. Affordable price.
Compact size and light weight.Great 18-55mm II AF-S kit lens.Great battery life
30D is a great camera. Buying a new camera a few yrs old will save ya some big $$ & you’ll still have great fun & results.
