Camera arrived as promised. The photos are excellent. I'ma long time user of 35 mm SLR and this is my first leap into digital SLR. Much to learn, but are excited about the prospects. We are headed to Cape Cod and Boston so soon I'm going to try it.

I was an amateur photographer for almost 20 years, and the D90 is worth the wait. I wont go into all these reasons I love the features of DSLR, such as ease of use, versatility and thoughtfully prepared menus and buttons. These have been well detailed in other reviews. It's easy to say that the function of HD video is just a gimmick. After all that I have yet to see a good camera a built-in video camera at a reasonable price. But as we discover the visual quality of the video are incredible and for me to have an almost nostalgic feel to them. Specialmente quando si scatta aperti con un f / 2. 8 or faster lens. Video of my twins 2 years that were recorded spontaneously will treasure more than any of the videos made on our traditional camera HD video. I do not know if only with a camera at hand often leads to more opportunities to shoot candid moments, but from the day I pulled out of the box, we had some great moments that you remember. If there is a camera that's right!

I had a D40 before, and this is a major upgrade and use image-wise. You can take shots in low light where the d40/d60 have problems focusing. The photo with the 35 millimeters 1. 8 is super strong and fresh. The only reason I did not have the D90 is because all my goals have already AF-S. So the D90 will be much be a waste of money for more programs that the camera is not used. Even if I had to buy the new Tokina 12-24mm DX II with the engine for $ 100 more because there is no AF motor in the body D5000, but I'm still happy with my lens collection and still saves money in D5000 on course for the D90. . . I bought the body only D5000 on Amazon for $ 659. 95

Great room we only had the camera a couple of weeks before going to Alaska, which was the reason to buy right now. The camera did a great job over 984 images. The images were taken by moving buses, boats, trains and sleigh pulled by dogs. We were able to capture moose, grizzly bears, Fox, Wolf, Sheep Deli, whales, sea lions, eagles, swans, and Caribou. The image scene are subdivided into those of mt. McKinley, the night is just breathtaking, the tundra was its fall colors while we were there and those shots are beautiful, as well as shots of the nearby flora and Fiona. The video of when we were riding a sleigh pulled by dogs (trainer summer had wheels) are great you can feel the Musher working dogs and to answer our questions. We could not be happier with the camera all the way from 5 stars. The rating is lower Amazon. com ploy free shipping, free shipping if you are willing to wait 3 months for delivery, but if you want now is extra. Well have had their pound of flesh this time, but once again, not the company that used to be so careful buyers. There are a couple of other camera supplies that are better and better price once you take into Amazon. ploy coms' shipping, try [. . . ]

Ineffective "LiveView" mode on the Nikon D5000 may be prompted to remember this model, I believe, is that bad. I tried "LiveView" myself, because I expected to work in a manner acceptable since it is really the only feature that makes this camera different from a less expensive model like the Nikon D60. I spent an hour playing with the D5000 in LiveView and once the camera is able to find the correct focus, has never focused on the subject within the AF. And the situation worsens, the camera may say that he has achieved focus (the green rectangle), even if the image is completely out of focus from corner to corner. The camera has been tested under average lighting situations, like what a journalist would have met. I am not interested in the topics that the camera Live View works only when you are on a tripod or the sun SuperBright (where the sun bathes the LCD anyway), which is just ridiculous non-sense. I have heard "rumors" on the line failure LiveView but I have never in my wildest dreams imagined it would be a total failure, it is absolutely useless. The Canon Digital Rebel also has LiveView, but he does a trick that also lowers the mirror for a split second and fire properly, it happens very fast and it works. Would be extremely easy for Nikon to add such an important feature of the software, however, have made the presence of a Vari-Angle LCD useless. The only reason not to give me a star is because the chip is supposed to perform D5000 excellent in low light and you can still fire through the viewfinder, but if LiveView is important to you, I strongly suggest you avoid all D5000 and wait for a better model. More Cons: resolution, low quality LCD, burst mode does not work as advertised, the menu is more difficult to navigate that sometimes requires a double click, menu descriptions are cryptic, etc. It seems that this may just be one of the worst Nikon DSLR ever produced. Update July 20: Just as I predicted a few months ago, this model was so badly built that requires a recall. This week, Nikon has sent thousands of letters to all owners D5000 Nikon announces a recall mayor. Based on the serial number may be necessary to send the D5000 to be "fixed" to what they say is a problem of "power", even if your D5000 is working now send however, you will probably brake early so do not wait until in that case. (They do not mention that it would fix the "Live View" question). I fear that there are several other issues that will not get fixed so my advice is to return and request a full refund! Note: In July 2009, Amazon was forced to temporarily suspend the sale of this model for several days due to customer complaints. You do the math.
